Dynamic Wavelength and Bandwidth Allocation with QoS for TWDM PON

We propose a dynamic wavelength and bandwidth allocation algorithm with QoS (quality-ofservice) for a TWDM PON (time and wavelength division multiplexing passive optical network) system of NG-PON2 (next generation PON stage 2). Unlike other existing methods, the proposed method supports multiple service classes and is compliant to the NG-PON2 recommendation. To increase the wavelength allocation efficiency, upstream wavelengths are reallocated during the scheduling process. We evaluate the proposed algorithm using computer simulations under balanced and unbalanced traffic.
